That’s The Night The Love Died By The Elgins

Posted by admin on November 26th, 2009 and filed under motown anthology | 12 Comments »

I thought i would put this up because their are not many of the elgins songs on here apart from Hevean must have sent you. This is a song of The Elgins Motown Anthology. When i first heard it i thought it was fantastic and have loved it ever since !!. Acording to the liner notes this song was intended for Jimmy Ruffin and i think that there are certain trates of What Becomes Of the Broken Hearted. The very tallented Sandra Mallet (Edwards) singing lead but in the notes it says that the lead was re recorded over a year later witch would be the time when Yvonne Allen Took over the lead singing for the group so me thinks that their is another version with Yvonne singing lead out there, does anyone know anything more?? Thanks!!
ps sorry about the boring slide show their arn’t that many pics of the elgins out there :S
