Their 2001 album ANThology was amazing and their other two albums were pretty darn good too, but they seem to have faded into obscurity for some reason. Are they working on any new material? Are they even still together?
For those of you who don’t know them, they were mostly famous for their amazing cover of Michael Jackson’s song Smooth Criminal and also their song Movies.
Shame because I really liked them. Even my little sister used to headbang to Smooth Criminal when she was like 2 years old :L
I have no idea.
I know they got sued for the song "smooth criminal" originally created by Michael Jackson.
Maybe that has something to do with there down fall.
so i love the instrumental version of within you without you from the album anthology 1 of the beatles. and i read somewhere that the original song they composed is 30 min. i’d really like to get that song. if anyone knows where i can get it, from which album, please tell me. please please please.
You can try Last,fm using the site’s in-built Audioscrobbler.
I’m writing a paper on the song (Man, I love being a music major) and we have to talk about all of the different versions that were released. I can only find the version released on the Anthology and the one from the White album. Other than the covers (from the "Across the Universe" movie and by other bands), were there any other versions of this song released by the Beatles that any of you know about?
Hello !
U2 does a cover of it ! =)
IT SUCKS. BELIEVE ME. ( I mean, I LOVE U2 ) but it sucks. It was there ‘disco" era. -.-
Last year about around this time they had a lot of Beatles things on for the release o their remastered albums. I havent been able to watch the whole Beatles Anthology on Vh1 Classics. But for all beatles fan, A Hard Days Night come on tonight at 8 on vh1 classics
freakin moose! (sorry i say that when im mad!) i missed AHDN AGAIN!!!!!!! this always happens! i miss all beatles movies because that ONE day i forget to check whats on VH1 classic
im so mad now!!! garrrrr!!!!! as for the Beatles Anthology, im not sure…but if they do come on, lemme know! i havent got to watch them either. you could order them on netflix, im forcing my mum to do that.
Anthology has a better balance of songs
I read in an interview that paul hated one of the mixes of ‘the long and winding road’ but the beatles released it anyway w/o his permission.
Is it the one on Past Master, or the one on the let it be album.
Or is it on anthology?
Both, He hated that Phil Spector put strings in it, the one on Let it Be Naked is the one Paul envisioned. For me the Version that Paul did on Give my Regards to Broadstreet" is the absolute worst. I don’t mind the Phil Spector version all that much.
Where can I download the Earthworm Jim Anthology album in a zip. file? It’s from Tommy Tallarico, but I can’t buy it. I only need one track, "What the Heck?!" by the Oneups. If you know where to download either of these, please answer!
eMail Mustin from The OneUps. He’ll know the answer. contact@theoneups.com
George Harrison originally performed the song with a solo acoustic guitar and an organ; a demo version, longer than the officially released version, can be heard
on the Anthology 3 album and in reworked form on the Love album. Eric Clapton, who was a good friend of George, played lead guitar
on the album version of the song with a Gibson Les Paul guitar. On The
Concert for Bangladesh, he performed it on a Gibson Super 400 hollowbody
guitar, and later acknowledged that a solid-body guitar would have been more
appropriate.
liryc:
I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don’t know why nobody told you how to unfold your love
I don’t know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.
I look at the world and I notice it’s turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don’t know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don’t know how you were inverted
No one alerted you.
I look at you all see the love there that’s sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
Look at you all…
Still my guitar gently weeps.
