I need to do a 10 page paper for my early modern and medieval women’s literature class. I can’t seem to come up with an interesting enough topic to do it on. I think, though I’m not 100% sure, I can perhaps write about anything on the topic of women’s rights, misogyny, misogyny in other cultures–just as long as it deals with social topics concerning women, I think it;s good. But I would prefer something concerning with the time period just to be on the safe side. For class the books we used were Women Defamed Woman Defended by Alcuin Blamires, Showings by Julian of Norwich and The Book of Margery Kempe by Margery Kempe, works by Elizabeth I, Jane Anger, Mary Sidney Herbert, Rachel Speght, Anne Stagg, Bathsua Makin and Amelia Lanyer. Elizabeth Cary’s The Tragedy of Mariam, Lady Mary Wroth’s Pamphilia to Amphithanthus, poetry by Katherine Philips, plays by Margaret Cavendish including The Convent of Pleasure, Love’s Adventures, Bell in Campo, and Plays by Aphra Behn including The Rover, The Lucky Chance, Oroonoko and the Widow Ranter.

Additional Details
For works and writers used in the Blamires’ book, I’ve pasted a link below where after you arrive on the page you can click the picture of the book to look inside and find the table of contents. It gives you a list of what authors and what works of theirs was used or referenced to in Blamires’ book.

I’m meant to be writing an essay on it but stupidly left my anthology at school and can’t seem to find the poem ANYWHERE (literally, online or in any of my poetry books) so I would be extremely grateful if someone who did have the poem (it’s in the OCR AS Eng Lit anthology) could post it here.
Thank you!

I have to do a comparison essay for school, where I compare four poems and discuss how they portray tainted or untainted love.
The title is:
“Many of these poems are concerned with the idea of ‘tainted’ or ‘untainted’ love. Select four poems from your anthology and show how different poets explore these themes.”
I’ve chosen:
1.My Last duchess -tainted
2.To his coy mistress -tainted
3.Shall I compare thee…? -untainted
4.First love -untainted
I’m not looking to cheat, I’m just really stuck on how I can do this essay! I’m thinking that I have to do the ryhme pattern, structure, language, etc., and link it to tainted or untainted love but I’m really stuck on making comparisons,
any help would be appreciated!

I’d separate everything into techniques first:
Language – Do the poets use any special words to describe the kinds of love they feel? For example, words with a dual meaning. In one context, they could be read as sweet and loving, but in another they could be slightly sinister. An example I could think of is if one of the poets uses a phrase like ‘intoxicating beauty’. We could take that to mean someone overwhelmingly beautiful, but it’s also got negative, alchoholic connotations of a person absolutely intoxicating you and causing you to loose control of your senses. So the word choice would really pronounce the theme of either tainted or untainted.
Metaphors, Similies, Allusions – What sort of references are the poets making about their subjects? For example, a number of poems make references to classical mythology or legends. A poet may compare his subject to a beautiful fictional goddess, but there may be a dual meaning in the reference, i.e. if that goddess met a particularly tragic fate. A poet may also compare the subject to the natural environment, but some aspects of nature can be not only beautiful but deadly, like the ocean. If the love was tainted, the poet may choose to highlight darker sides of the loce by alluding to myths, other literary figures, or dangerous aspects of the environment.
By bad I mean Judy Bloom and those types, but not in that way. I’m just saying she seems to be into reading and tries to write stories, but she’s so very, very immature. I want to introduce her to some quality stuff to raise her up a little and maybe mature a little. I could let her borrow some anthologies of essays I have, I can’t buy her anything.
Leave her along a19 year old is immature in their writing. Be grateful that she reads. ASK her if she is interested in any of you books, or let her know what she can barrow from you to read. You know that since the Harry Potter series came out children who never read before have been reading all over the place. Perhaps when she goes to college she will get into reading something more in-depth.
i forgot my book at school and need to do my homework which consists of reading "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by Dave Sedaris

I need an essay for my english anthology and I am not able to find one. Please help me! I dont know what to do!!
The Red Badge of Courage is a short novel with elements of the bildungsroman. The book focuses on the character development of a young soldier after he enlists in the Union Army in 1863, during the American Civil War. The novel presents a realistic portrait of the youth and the battle he fights with the enemy and with himself. The Irving Bacheller newspaper syndicate published the novel in abridged form in 1894 in The Philadelphia Press and other newspapers. The New York City firm of D. Appleton & Company published the work in book October 1895.
One essay is from the anthology book and the other transcript is one that i have written. They are both of the subject of travel. I was just wondering if you have any useful tips to writing an English essay. Thank-you!
Look for similar issues then get a good sharp contrast in there !
Okay, so for English we had to do a powerpoint about four poems, and we had to be original. So for my ‘Personal Comment’, I did video interpretations of the four poems.
And here they are (remember I can’t draw)
And what are people’s thoughts on the kirby picture at the end? Good? Bad? Your thoughts?

The Beatles “Baby’s in Black” 45 rpm vinyl — live version from the Hollywood Bowl, recorded Aug 1965 – issued as the B-side to “Real Love”, March 1996.
This is my first “vinyl video” clip where I actually make a video, not just point the camera at the turntable and you get to watch a record spinning on a turntable — I suspect that can be only so interesting even to most die-hard vinyl record fans. Plus, the audio is sourced directly from the vinyl single.
So in this video, I included images that pertain to both this Beatles track and their Hollywood Bowl performance. “Baby’s in Black” did not appear on the 1977 album release “The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl”, nor did it appear on any of the Anthology albums. But just for fun, I decided to put some “Hollywood Bowl’ pics (that album has yet to appear on CD, so many might have not heard it if they do not have the original LP, or know what the cover artwork looks like, or the essay George Martin wrote for the back cover, which I included here).
“Baby’s in Black” composed by John Lennon & Paul McCartney. Originally appeared on the ‘Beatles for Sale’ UK album, and the ‘Beatles ‘65′ US album, both issued Dec 1964.

First, your commas and periods need to follow the sentence or phrase, not be attached to the next one. I’m taking out the publishers, because unless you are writing a research paper, no one cares. I put the publishing years in parentheses, because that information doesn’t merit a sentence. I looked up her department on the St. Philip’s College Web site. "MPR" is really "NPR." The origin of the Cisneros Award would be included in a longer essay, perhaps as background information in a book. Here, it’s not relevant enough to include. When writing a sentence with a series of verbs, it’s important that they agree in tense. "She likes to camp, to play board games, and to go running or walking…," or "She likes to go camping, playing board games, and running or walking…."
I don’t know your age or skill level, but this is a pretty good essay in general. Your problem is with the rules, not with clarity of thought or organization (except one paragraph break I just didn’t like). I really like the repetition of "fall[ing] in love" with something because of what she read. It’s a powerful image.
Good luck.

Diana Lopez is the author of a adult novel, Sofia’s Saint (2002), and a middle school novel, Confetti Girl (2009). Her writing was also featured in Hecho En Tejas, an anthology of writing by Texans of Mexican heritage, in 2007.
Ms. Lopez lives in San Antonio, Texas. She is a professor in the Communications and Learning department at St. Philip’s College. She was the recipient of the 2004 Alfredo Cisneros Del Moral Award, given annually to a person who was born in, lives in, or writes about Texas.
Ms. Lopez’s interest in writing began at an early age. She learned about poetry when her mother took her to workshops at the Greenwood Library in Corpus Christi. She wrote her first poem on a notepad, and another poem called "The Wind" that won third place in a local contest. She also showed an early passion for fiction. She shared a room with her younger sister, and Diana would always whisper stories to the younger girl when she had a hard time sleeping. Mother Goose made her fall in love with reading. The Diary of Anne Frank made her fall in love with writing.
Ms. Lopez likes to collect bookmarks and refrigerator magnets. She usually keeps a journal. She loves to go camping in state parks, playing board games, and walking or running around her neighborhood. She watches UFC Fights, and wear crazy socks like the main character, Lina, in Confetti Girl.
