Love seeing the … Love seeing the Motown label..brings memories of how I wanted the Motown vinyl collection which was out in the 70’s. I never got it but my family did have many Motown records including the Four Tops Greatest Hits. This is definitely one song that brings back so many memories and I just love it. It’s one of the best. Thanks for posting this! *)*
could u ever ask … could u ever ask for more classic meaningful lyricss than what you have here; every word every line has that special sumthing for sure.
I loved the … I loved the Anthology vinyl series and I still have all of them (Stevie’s was called ‘Looking Back’, but it’s the same thing). Super-biggies got three discs: Supremes, Tops, Temps, Miracles, Marvin, J5; but even Jr. Walker, Marvelettes, Gladys & Pips and Vandellas got 2-disc sets. We can regret that Mary Wells, Contours, Brenda Holloway, Kim Weston, the Elgins and the Spinners went neglected in that round of releases, but CDs have greatly fixed that since.
Levi’s astonishing … Levi’s astonishing performance all but pulls you into his own skin with him identifying with his panicked incredulousness that the love of his life is walking out on him. Perhaps, even more than Diana, Levi is the one Berry Gordy should’ve taken to Hollywood with him and turned into an actor.
