“Missing You” is from the 2007 compilation/anthology album “A Hundred Miles Or More: A Collection” by multi-Grammy winning singer and fiddler Alison Krauss. The album is a collection of new and previously recorded material and features Krauss in duets with artists including Brad Paisley, Jon Waite and James Taylor in addition to the AKUS team. Although another very successful and enjoyable release from Krauss, the album lacks a certain direction or cohesiveness, being rather, as it is, a collection of material which mimics her earlier outstanding album “Now That I Found You: A Collection”, her very best album in my opinion. The album reached number 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart, a very respectable showing, although not producing a top twenty hit.
“Missing You” is a song written by John Waite, Mark Leonard and Charles Sanford. It was a number 1 pop/ rock hit for British singer John Waite in 1984. The re-recorded version heard in this video was released in early 2007 and charted at number 34 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. The music video is fairly straightforward, simply showing Krauss and Waite in the recording studio performing the track “Missing You”. The video was released at the same time as the single. “Missing You” is also available on John Waite’s album “Downtown: Journey Of A Heart” on Rounder Records.
